Navarone partners with DeepSea Technologies to deploy Vessel Intelligence

Athens, Greece - 7 October 2026
Navarone SA, an Athens-based operator of 26 Handysize dry bulk vessels, today announced a partnership with DeepSea Technologies to deploy DeepSea's Vessel Intelligence solution. The deployment gives Navarone a high-frequency, validated data foundation for fleet performance and operational decision-making, placing the company among the first operators to take this approach.
The partnership comes as vessel performance data moves ever-further to the centre of commercial and regulatory decisions. Fuel costs, EEXI and CII compliance and retrofit investments increasingly depend on it.
Yet many operators are finding that much of their existing telemetry isn't reliable enough to base those decisions on. As a result, shipping companies are starting to treat data quality as infrastructure in its own right: engineered and continuously monitored, not just checked at installation, so that the models and decisions built on top of it can be trusted.
Performance data can significantly improve decision making across all departments of a Maritime company but until now, access was restricted to specific employees in a static, non-flexible way. We could not imagine top management of any company to consult a performance platform for insights although the underlying data remain of extreme value. This has led to the development of internal BI tools tailor made to the needs of each company, department and role. DeepSea adopted perfectly to this modern way of reporting by providing a reliable and validated data foundation enriched with AI where we can rely and build our custom made internal software landscape.
- Kordas Konstantinos, Performance Engineer, Navarone SA
Navarone's decision reflects a growing trend among operators that run strong in-house performance teams. These companies have deep performance and data expertise, and they face a software landscape that is changing quickly. They want a flexible, future-proof data foundation that works with any visualisation or analytics tool, instead of a closed vendor interface.
BI tools are becoming standard in performance departments, and large language models (LLMs) make custom applications and agents quick to build. As a result, this open approach is particularly gaining ground among mid- to large-sized owners and operators.
From the moment we first started talking, it was clear that Konstantinos, and Navarone as a whole, knew what was important when it came to performance. A single-minded focus on data quality, backed up by an understanding that the technological environment is now moving at a pace, allowed us to see eye-to-eye. We're proud to support Navarone as an early mover, and we expect this approach to become the standard for owners and operators for years ahead.
